2026 Dive Team

Welcome to the 2026 Red Tide Dive Season! We're so excited to kick off another incredible summer with one of the most dynamic and rewarding sports around; springboard diving. Whether you're stepping onto a board for the very first time or returning to build on last season's progress, you belong here. Come join us!

Safety First, Fun Always

Springboard diving is one of the best ways to build real water confidence. Through our program, divers don't just learn to dive, they develop essential pool safety skills that stay with them for life: controlled entries, breath awareness, spatial orientation in the water, and the discipline to approach an aquatic environment with respect and confidence. Safety isn't a separate lesson here; it's woven into everything we do. And the best part? Developing these skills is genuinely a blast. Our practices are high-energy, encouraging, and designed to make every diver feel like they belong on that board.

Perfect for Beginners | Developmental Skills are Our Foundation

If your swimmer has never dived before, this is exactly the right place to start. Our 2026 season places a special emphasis on developmental divers — beginners who are just discovering what their bodies can do in the air and in the water. We meet every diver where they are, building foundational skills step by step: approach and hurdle, basic forward dives, body position, and board confidence. There's no pressure, no rush; just steady growth in a supportive, encouraging environment. Watching a first-time diver land their first clean entry is one of the best moments in sports, and we get to see it happen all summer long.

Want to Compete? Let's Go.

For divers who catch the competitive bug, we offer the full experience: dual meets, invitational events, and the chance to represent Red Tide against other teams in our league. Competition is a fantastic way to set personal goals, track improvement, and experience the unique thrill of performing under pressure. That said, competition is always an opportunity, never a requirement. Some divers come to grow, some come to compete, and many discover they want to do both. We support all of it.

Meet Our Coaches

Our 2026 coaching staff brings fresh energy and deep experience to the pool deck this season:

  • Michael Sweeney: Coach Michael joins Red Tide with a passion for technique development and athlete confidence. He brings both competitive knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for helping divers of all levels find their footing on the board.
  • Rai Detten: Coach Rai is no stranger to the Red Tide family and brings an athlete's perspective to coaching. His energy and relatability make him a natural mentor for divers of all ages, especially those just getting started.

Together, our coaches are committed to building a team culture where every diver feels seen, challenged, and celebrated.

Contacts

We, as a team, cannot make it through the season without effective communication all around.  We know that there will be new families and families that do not speak English as their primary language – please do not allow this to stop you from speaking to the Coaches and Team Reps.  Veteran parents please help to introduce new parents or families that speak other languages to the Coaches and Team Reps, and help to ensure that the communication lines are open.
