Practices
Swim season lasts 9 weeks from the first practice through Divisionals. While we understand and respect that there is life outside the swim team, we ask that you commit to attending all practices and meets.
General practices begin Tuesday after Memorial Day and go through July 22th. We will only have afternoon practices until Fairfax County Public Schools are out for the summer and then switch to a morning practice schedule with limited afternoon practices. Swimmers who qualify for Individual All Stars will continue practice the following week to prepare for the All Stars meet.
Practices are organized by age group as follows:
- Little Tides (4-7 Years Old)
- 8 and Under
- 9-12 Years Old
- 13 Years and Older
Swimmers are expected to be on time and ready to swim. Please make sure that your swimmer has goggles and a swim cap. YES, all swimmers should have a swim cap, even boys.
Swimmers are expected to attend every practice – however we do know that things come up. Notify the Coaches and Team Reps at least 24 hours prior to either the morning or afternoon practices if you are not going to be able to attend. Between the morning and afternoon swim practices there are 7 general practice opportunities. Swimmers who do not make at least 3 practices during the week leading up to an A Meet will not be eligible to swim in the meet.
